"Justin taught my son Jake piano for many years, beginning when he just 10 years old. When I realized Jake had a strong interest in music that I wanted to encourage, I called the director of the music department at URI who referred me to Justin. As promised, Justin used a variety of teaching methods (including the early introduction of music theory and ear training) that allowed Jake to take his music to a new level while still keeping it fun.
Although Jake took a break from formal piano lessons with Justin when he ventured into the world of guitar and drums, Justin was there for him when he needed help putting together his portfolio for applications to college music programs. Justin also helped Jake prep for his auditions. As a result, Jake was offered scholarships from two schools, and I believe Justins lessons and his unwavering dedication to Jake’s musical growth was invaluable.
Jake still looks to Justin as a friend and musical advisor, and I am happy for his continued support. And, by the way, Justin is a most gifted pianist."
"He is a very good teacher. He doesn't just teach you how to play the piano but he helps you feel connected to the piano as well. I highly recommend Mr. Cahoon."
"My experience with Justin has been superlative! I look forward to them every week and would rarely cancel unless I was ill or out of town. I am a professional attorney and have been studying the piano with him for several years, constantly progressing. Professional, courteous, timely, patient and the right amount of cheerful encouragement mark my experience. To learn from such an accomplished piano player, who has a palpable love for, knowledge of and interest in music as art, I view as a privilege and I highly Justin!"
